Health(ier) Banana Bread

  • 4 bananas, mashed

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract

  • 3 Tablespoons light brown sugar

  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose whole wheat flour

  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  1. Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 9x5" loaf pan and set aside.

  2. Mash bananas in a mixing bowl, then add the egg, vanilla, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon and mix.  

  3. In a separate small bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to banana mixture and stir to combine. 

  4. Once combined gently stir in melted butter and pour into loaf pan.

  5. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean

  6. Cool for 10 minutes then remove from pan and enjoy!
